An evening stroll in the Hafod estate

By Rudi Winter

The Hafod estate is located in the Ystwyth valley just upstream of Pont-rhyd-y-groes. It has a dense network of tracks and paths both on the valley bottom and on the steep flanks either side. Some of the landscape features originating from the time when the area was a landscaped country estate have been restored, but it all fits in nicely with the character of an upland river valley. I live nearby, and while the evenings are light I sometimes go for a short stroll in the Hafod estate after work. On this occasion back in 2013, I took the camera.
