A Geograph-ers' walk from Heath into Wakefield

By Rudi Winter

Having had a walk around the Yorkshire Sculpture Park in the morning after the 2018 Geograph AGM in Wakefield, we relocated to have lunch at the Kings Arms SE3519 : The King's Arms, Heath by Rudi Winter beer garden in Heath, followed by a short walk back into Wakefield.

After leaving the magnificent Heath Common SE3520 : Heath Common by Rudi Winter, effectively a super-size village green, we whacked our way along overgrown paths through woodland and towards the River Calder SE3419 : Riverside path and new bridge, River Calder, Wakefield by Rudi Winter. Following the riverside path past Fall Ings Lock SE3419 : Fall Ings Lock, Wakefield by Rudi Winter and into Wakefield, we arrived at the Chantry Bridge SE3320 : Chantry Bridge and Chapel, River Calder, Wakefield by Rudi Winter with its bridge chapel and finished on the bank of the river just opposite the Hepworth gallery SE3320 : Hepworth gallery, Wakefield by Rudi Winter.
