November Update
So its now November and my last blog was in September. I have done a fair bit considering several hurdles. First of all I did a couple churches with Norman features, most notably Norman doorways. I also found Beeston Regis priory.

The geology talk at Weybourne was very interesting, it was hosted by the Norfolk Geological Society.

My last geographing day in Norfolk/Suffolk was spent at Orfordness. I wanted to photograph the lighthouse as its time is running out.

Back in Leicester I visited the recently reopened geology section of Leicester museum. Highlights included the original Charnia fossils and the Rutland dinosaur.

The nice weather continued for a while, a trip to the nearby Croft Quarry offered a great view of the geology.

The next day I was back on the bike, cycling to Groby on my way to Bradgate park. The time team featured castle was photographed along with a few other stops. The ex quarry railway was walked and geographed.

Burrough Hill had been on my wish-list for a while, it was a fairly long cycle but I decided to do it.

The next few days were spent in and around Leicester finishing a few bits off.

One Saturday I was torn between Derbyshire and Lincolnshire, eventually I went to Lincolnshire. I re-explored Boston and took a trip to Sibsey.

Next was a joint trip with Chris Allen in Derbyshire, as it has already been written about I won't go into detail.
We visited Darley Abbey mills, Heage mill and Cromford pump along with a quick stop at Middleton top.

On the Sunday (last week) I was planning to go to Barnsley to geograph Barnsley Main colliery and Worsborough mill. However several little things added up. I lost my debit card, had no cash available and no-one to borrow off. So I couldn't buy tickets! I had to miss it which was very disappointing. Instead I looked around the castle at Leicester along with the Vulcan factory.

Yesterday I was due to go to Snibston and see the beam engine in steam along with others but couldn't make it. Instead I cycled up today to see the colliery, a wonderful site. The manor house down the road was also photographed. Its first on the site since 2000.

What's next?
Well I haven't any money left until my next loan so not much outside Leicester. I would like to do part of the Swannington railway up to Glenfield tunnel. On the 19th November a double headed steam train is passing through Leicester three times so I'll be out for that. On the 22nd I'm going to Derbyshire with fellow geologists to Devonshire cavern, my previous attempt failed.
The 4th December sees an industrial mini meet in Leicester at Abbey pumping station. Possibly seeing Rood Ashton hall passing through Leicester on the same day.
I won't have a camera over the Christmas period so its nothing until early Jan.
