Hunters’ High Seats & Shooting Platforms

These are often rough-hewn structures found mainly in Scottish woodland and used for game shooting. Deer, both red and roe which do so much damage to forestry, are often the quarry although other smaller game (and now wild pig) are hunted from these vantage points. Some of the platforms are also used simply for the observation of wild life. Neither Wales nor Ireland are represented among the initial group of thumbnails below.
