Geo-Trips :: A tour of TQ26
Woodmansterne
A drive from Stoneleigh, Sun, 15 Jun 2014 by David Howard
Finding I didn't need many more squares to complete my 8th hectad, TQ26, I used the usual Sunday conditions to head south, where Worcester Park, Cheam, Sutton and all the other bottlenecks don't normally hold up the traffic like the rest of the week. There were no problems going from one area to the next, the small estate in Woodmansterne needing a detour as there isn't a road in except from the south, explaining why I hadn't been there before as it's way off a main road and leads nowhere except itself. I discovered afterwards there was another square I needed in Ewell but can do that another time. Most of the area was very nice stockbroker belt along the western fringes of Purley, and skirted the border between London and Surrey.
