Peak Forest Canal: Ashton to Romiley and back

A boat trip from Ashton-under-Lyne, Fri, 8 May 2015 by Gerald England

On 8th May 2015 we celebrated our son's 34th birthday and escaped the aftermath of the election by taking a trip down the Peak Forest Canal from Ashton to Romiley aboard Community Spirit, a narrowboat operated by the East Manchester Community Boat Project.

These 61 photographs illustrate some of the many delights to found on this stretch of the canal.

Click the blue circles to see a photograph taken from that spot and read further information about the location. The blue lines indicate the direction of view. There is also a slideshow of this trip. ( )
