MacDuff's Castle
Built in the 1500's by the Wemyss family and abandoned around 1650 when the Wemyss moved down the coast to Wemyss Castle.
26 Oct 07 Matthew Hatton has provided the following additional information... Originally a rectangular tower house with a range of buildings built onto the south wall in the 16th C. At the end of this range was another rectangular tower with a rounded projecting turret containing the staircase. Some of the outer walling was looped for guns.
