The A573 main road through the parish is used by long-distance cyclists on the Land's End to John O'Groats ride, as it provides a more direct, and peaceful route between Warrington and Wigan than the A49. One of the more unusual cycles to make the journey is this rickshaw, which is en route between Kendal and London raising money for Oxfam.
