Some rusty undercarriage and mainframe components along with fragments of aluminium are all that remain now of an RAF Avro Anson that crashed in bad visibility here on 23 June 1945. The pilot, Kenneth G Mayne died in the accident and is buried in Plymouth Old, in Devon.
