Built into the dike that protects the former flood plain on the opposite bank to TQ0111 : Houghton, West Sussex. This photograph was taken before the guard rail was fitted, as seen in TQ0211 : Sluice Gate near Amberley Station. Footpath 2278 from Houghton bridge turns east here to then run south along a wooded path to meet Stoke Road.
