Oak Street Elland
This interesting building caught my eye. It is in and amongst the terraced houses of central Elland, only one street back from the main road. It looks like it was once a workshop of some description. I was particularly taken with the curved wall on the left of the gate. Above, the edge of the building is at right angles, yet as it drops down it has some fancy stonework and below that it becomes curved. I wonder if it was to allow for easier access into the yard for vehicles. Such a shame that it is no longer used for the purpose that it was built for.
