Mount Strange and Hango Hill
Mount Strange and Hango Hill
Hango Hill (background) is a possible prehistoric burial site with artificial mound. Its name from the Norse hanga-haugr, Gallows hill. Renamed by the Derby family as Mount Strange in honour of the Derby heir Lord Strange. A castellated summerhouse was erected on the site and its ruins still remain (foreground).
