With support from the local priest Mgr Tom Wynne, the Gaelic Society of Inverness erected a memorial plaque in the church to record the interment at the door of the chapel of the Keppoch Bard, Donald Finlay MacKillop (Dòmhnall mac Fhionnlaidh nan Dàn), always remembered for his
Òran na Comhachaig (“Song of the Owl). The memorial also records the visit to Roy Bridge in 1873 of the renowned Australian teacher, Mother Mary of the Cross SSJ, a descendant of the MacKillops of Murlagan, who was canonised in 2012. At the ceremony, led by the Society Chairman Allan Campbell, the background to the memorial was explained and the plaque was formally unveiled by Sr Thérèse SSJ. Charles Kennedy MP, local farmer Ronnie Campbell and piper Donald Shaw also took part in the service (information from the Gaelic Society of Inverness).
