Discussion on SE0319
anyone wishing to know more about 20 spring street ripponden please reply as since moving in to this property i have found that it was built in 1829 and it was an inn for the travellers making there way to rochdale .after a hardy pint at the bridge inn ripponden travellers would stay here with there horse and carts hence the large archway and above would of been the hay store. as you walk inn the hallway slopes upward .i would assume it would be for a drainaige for the horse or horses.i am currently renovating the cellar into a kichen and i have uncovered all of the old meat stores.also the stone slabs in the cellar have got thousands of marks in the slabs which would of been made by the constant chopping of wood to keep the big opn fires going in the living area also in the cellar and also the first bedroom.everyone who comes here say that it feels warm and enviting.i can only assume that there has been a lot of good times had by all whilst staying here.
