This theatre is run jointly with Sadlers Wells (see their website Link

for its history). There has been a theatre here since the 17th Century. In 1911 the large London Opera House was built here, later becoming the Stoll Picture Theatre. The present theatre was built in 1960. Most of the theatre is below street level, with a large office block above it.
