NY0733 : End of the Road

near to Great Broughton, Cumbria, Great Britain

End of the Road.
End of the Road.
This now private road is closed off at one end, and finishes where the picture shows. The way on is via a parallel track to the left. Its history is that it once was a narrow country lane, but part of it was cannibalised for opencast mining, now finished. A mineral railway ran parallel to this section on the immediate right, as does the current parish boundary. Immediately to the left are old workings.
