The Paradox, Former Vernons Pools Building, Aintree
This 1920's art-deco style building in Ormskirk Road, Aintree, once housed the famous Vernon's football pools. It later became a notorious nightclub called The Paradox, renowned for its dance music but also for its violent reputation and drug-taking. It was demolished in May 2013.
