NT3609 : Craik: a felled area

near to Craik, Scottish Borders, Great Britain

Craik: a felled area.
Craik: a felled area.
Newly felled forest east of Craik. Why was a tree left standing, devoid of foliage? My guess is as a perch for raptors, which will thrive here while the new trees are young and there is a lot of grass for voles.
