View across old airfield
Looking northwest from near the entrance to the former St David's airfield at Llanungar Fawr, the contours of volcanic outcrops along the coast, from Carn Llidi to Carn Perfedd, are clearly visible on the horizon. In the middle distance is one of the old runways.
Since its acquisition by the PCNP in the 1990s and its managed reversion to natural habitat, the airfield has become a prime site for skylarks in particular as well as a range of other birds attracted by the open grassland and heath.
