St Fagans: Museum of Welsh Life, Kennixton Farmhouse
Kennixton was built at Llangynydd on the Gower in 1610 and belonged to the Rogers family from the early 17th century through to 1951 when it was donated to the Welsh Folk Museum, as the Museum of Welsh Life was then known. It was re-erected at St Fagans in 1955 and recently celebrated fifty years at the Museum of Welsh Life. It is said the walls were painted red using ox blood and lime to ward the house against evil spirits. A BBC Wales site provides a panoramic of the building.
