The castle can be glimpsed on the far side of the wall in the centre of the photo. It was built in 1266 by Berengar Le Moyne, who ceded it to Peterborough Abbey in 1276. It was bought by Sir Edward Montagu at the Dissolution, who built the manor in the groundsTL0585
