RAF memorial
RAF memorial
Memorial to the 11 crew members of a Lancaster from RAF Syerston and Airspeed Oxford from RAF Wymeswold who were killed following a mid-air collision between the two aircraft over Screveton on 14th April 1944. The pilots were seen to turn their stricken aircraft away from the village and no-one in the village was harmed.

The 7 ton igneous granite stone from Mountsorrel Quarry is placed approximately mid-way between the two crash sites as a tribute from a grateful village. It was consecrated on November 13th (Remembrance Sunday) 2005 by Rev.David Wakefield, Priest-in-Charge of St.Wilfried's church.
