Longstone lighthouse, Farne Islands

The lighthouse is situated on Longstone Rock, at 6 miles from shore the most seaward of the Farne Islands. The lighthouse was built in 1826 and is famous for a heroic rescue of shipwrecked mariners in 1838 by Grace Darling, the lighthouse keeper's daughter.
