Looking North East along Durdham Downs which are used on each week by the Downs Football League with numerous pitches marked on it. On 17th May 1861, an Act of Parliament was passed granting the Clifton and Durdham Downs as an open space for the Citizens of Bristol. It is used for picnics, football, the circus, kite flying and children learning to cycle.
