SN7918 : Limestone Quarry in upper Cwm Twrch
near to Bwlch y Ddeuwynt [hill or Mountain], Powys, Great Britain

Limestone Quarry in upper Cwm Twrch
This has to be one of the most remote quarries in the entire national park. The remains of a limekiln are in evidence below it (out of shot). It lies beside one of the long bridle routes which traverse the Black Mountain - in this case from Ystradgynlais to Llanddeusant so lime may have been removed on horseback from this spot.
