near to Long Eaton, Derbyshire, Great Britain

Old Door
Old Door
An entrance to a mill building from the canal towpath.

The dark purple colour of the bricks forming a band around the arch is common around Long Eaton. It is seen in building decoration (as here) in paving stones and in the triangular coping stones on the top of boundary walls of properties from the late Victorian and Edwardian eras.
