SK4663 : Old Hardwick Hall

Old Hardwick Hall
Old Hardwick Hall
The ruins of old Hardwick Hall. Out of sight, nearby is the more splendid building which replaced it.
On the left of the picture, next to the gate is a massive stone buttress. It is not there as an ornament. On the other side of the stone wall the ground level is much higher and the wall is successfully holding back tons of earth.
