Inverie House
The mansion for the Knoydart Estate the house was built in the early 19th century for Colonel Alasdair MacDonell of Glengarry. A succession of unsympathetic owners followed. Most notorious being Lord Brocket from 1934 until his death in 1967. A Nazi sympathiser and personal friend of Hitler, he attended Hitler's 50th birthday party in 1939 and entertained Ribbentrop the German ambassador at Inverie.
