Coal Mine Pit Shaft Winding Wheel statue
This statue stands on a roundabout on the site of a former colliery. This is round the back of the new development at Xscape (leisure), Freeport (outlet shopping centre) and near the site of the impending further expansion of this re-development for Castleford and Glasshoughton. In the background the steam puffs out of the cooling towers of Ferrybridge power station. Read the dedication on the plaque, here SE4324 : Glasshoughton Wheel of Light.
