The Corran ferry plies across the Corran Narrows on Loch Linnhe between Nether Lochaber and Ardgour. It is one of the two ferry services operated directly by the Highland Council and conveyed 280,000 vehicles in 2004. The vessel currently operating the route is the Corran which was built in 2001. The vessel which can be seen on the left of the photo is the Maid of Glencoul which is the backup ferry.

The ferry route is on the line of one of the ancient cattle drove routes between the Outer Hebrides and central Scotland.
