Drinking Fountain Regent's Park
Drinking Fountain Regent's Park
This fountain was donated by Sir Cowasjee Jehangir in gratitude to the people of England for the protection his community (Parsi) enjoyed in India under British rule. It was inaugurated by HRH Princess Mary, Duchess of Teck (an impoverished cousin of Queen Victoria) in 1869. Its recent restoration was funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund.
