2009 and the Alfa Laval building is still empty
2009 and the Alfa Laval building is still empty
This huge structure, also seen here TQ1778 : Giant poster on former Alfa Laval buildingand TQ1778 : Poster on West side of Alfa Laval building., is still derelict and only the advertisement has changed, this one almost giving the impression that it's possible to fly right through the building. It also seems as if the block has been given an artificial Art Deco style facing at some point to draw attention to the authentic examples of Art Deco architecture in the vicinity.
The giant company Alfa Laval started when a young Swedish engineer, Gustaf de Laval, invented a centrifugal cream separator in 1877. The company is now a leading producer of specialized products and solutions used to heat, cool, separate and transport a wide range of fluids.
