The hillside stretching down into Cwm Ddu LinkExternal link is decorated by a line of old mine shafts LinkExternal link LinkExternal link belonging to Esgair Hir lead and copper mine LinkExternal link . The vein contains quartz LinkExternal link speckled with ore and is only a few metres wide, which explains the linear arrangement.
