The Horseshoe Rock, Lordenshaw
The Horseshoe Rock, Lordenshaw
Another of the well known prehistoric carved rocks at Lordenshaw is this earth-fast block named from the shape of its curved groove which encloses an array of deep cups. The August sun in this photograph is just setting behind the wooded lower slopes of the Simonside Hills.
