Welsh Chapel in London
Welsh Chapel in London
This little chapel, Capel Beddydwyr Cymreig, is in Eastcastle Street, which lies parallel to and north of, Oxford Street, is spiritual home to the London Welsh population.

It was in this street on May 21st 1952 that a gang of armed men ambushed a post office van and got away with £280,000. Despite a massive police investigation, no one was every caught or charged for this robbery, and none of the stolen money was ever recovered. The daring and precision of the robbery captured the imagination of the public at the time.
