There is a large field here devoted to the breeding of alpacas, probably for their wool. Alpacas are herd animals, hence many being seen in this field, and generally are only just larger than sheep but with much longer necks, and straight ears. Llamas, with which they are often confused, are twice the size, have curved ears and are usually found individually.
