The Town Hall, Rutherglen
The Town Hall, opened in 1862, was designed in the Scottish Baronial style by the painter and architect Charles Wilson (1810 - 1863) to replace the Tolbooth as the town council's meeting place. It was extended in 1876-77 to a design by Robert Dalgleish (1839 - 1898) to accommodate the Police Office, Jail and a new Council Chamber.
