Entrance to Gutteridge's Wood
Entrance to Gutteridge's Wood
The start of two paths into the well-walked woodland. The white circle is flour marked by the "hare" of a "hash", a form of paper chase/treasure hunt. The "hare" sets a trail, including possible false trails, using flour to make his marks. The "hounds" follow the trail, often to a pub. A good excuse for a run in the country with a well-earned drink at the end.
