taken 13 years ago, 5 km from Tresinney, Cornwall, Great Britain

Ring Cairn at Showery Tor
Ring Cairn at Showery Tor
The ring cairn round Showery Tor of which Craig Weatherhill, in "Cornovia: Ancient Sites of Cornwall & Scilly" says "A natural formation of weathered granite, 5.0m high surrounded by a massive ring cairn of piled stone 30m in diameter and up to 1.2m high. The natural formation was evidently intended as a focal point. No excavations have been recorded at this site, so it is not known how many, if any, burials were associated with this presumably Bronze Age site"
