View towards Ruddington Moor
At Cheese Hill, taken from the old road which runs a bit higher than the modern road just visible at the base of the trees. The land here is rich arable former fenland, whence the name Moor.
Cheese Hill gets its name from one of the tales of Gotham - it was here that one of the inhabitants of the village carrying a heavy cheese set it rolling down the hill towards Nottingham, instructing it to wait there until he arrived.
