Man-made or naturally formed?
Man-made or naturally formed?
Having just passed under a minor road, the River Trothy executes a sharp turn from heading East to heading South at this point near Jingle Street. This pool has formed - naturally or with a little help, I don't know. The surrounding trees don't look very old.
Update: (from someone who has fished on the river for more than 50 years). "This pool has always looked like this, there being no evidence of the river course being any different in recent history I'm tempted to say "natural" rather than man made. The wonder to me is that the scouring pressure of floods hitting the far bank at 90 degrees hasn't enlarged this pool even more." With thanks to PK.
