Belsay Castle
Belsay Castle
Belsay Castle is a dramatic 14th century fortified building dating from more troublesome times in the Borders LinkExternal link. When peace descended on the area, the Middleton family moved out of the castle into a modern wing (towards camera) which dates from the 17th and 18th centuries. The Castle was abandoned in the early 19th century with the construction of Belsay Hall LinkExternal link nearby.
