SP6106 : Dogwood bushes with red twigs and yellow lichen

taken 9 years ago, near to Waterperry, Oxfordshire, Great Britain

Dogwood bushes with red twigs and yellow lichen
Dogwood bushes with red twigs and yellow lichen
These bushes are beside the Waterperry road where it was diverted to cross the M40 over a bridge, so they were probably planted when the bridge was built. There are bushes both sides of the road, some are hazel with catkins, but most are like this. I think from the red twigs that they are a form of Dogwood.
[Addition 1st May 2009] I visited this place today. Leaves are full out and flowers just forming - certainly dogwood. See SP6106 : Dogwood leaves in spring, near Waterperry for photo with leaves.
