NY1703 : Shelter under Boat How

taken 9 years ago, near to Boot, Cumbria, Great Britain

Shelter under Boat How
Shelter under Boat How
Boat How is explained as 'hill with the hut' from Old Norse 'buo' hut or booth.(Whaley 2006).As with other Boat Hows in the district it does not seem to have anything to do with boats. The shelter in view looks of more recent origin.
