Meeting of two leats
Meeting of two leats
This overgrown location is difficult to photograph. This is actually the crossing of two leats. The one still flowing, right to left, is the Holne Town Gutter which carries water down into Holne. The other, across the top right of the picture, is the now dry Wheal Emma Leat. This shows a sluice/barrier so placed so as to limit the amount of water flowing down the Holne Town Gutter, the excess being channelled into the now dry Wheal Emma Leat.
My thanks to Guy Wareham for this corrected description.
