Glover's Island
This wooded islet in the River Thames at Petersham was called Petersham Ait till 1872. Then it was bought for 70 by one Joseph Glover who was a waterman in neighbouring Richmond. Note the 'plane overhead - the flightpath to Heathrow goes over Richmond.
