SU6505 : Scene of my greatest triumph

Scene of my greatest triumph
Scene of my greatest triumph
Taken at King George Playing Fields. Many, many years ago the Primary School Football team I managed went into their last match needing a win against our deadly rivals* to clinch the title. They were, if truth be told, marginally better than us. But we possessed the deadliest weapon in the primary school game: a big boy who had no fear in heading the ball. Time and time again in tight matches we won through because at a corner he would rise fearlessly and head it in. And so it proved on that bright spring afternoon in 1988. To think all these years later my fellow manager Alex Ferguson is still with the same team!
*Where curiously, some 21 years on, I now work.
