Orchid, Kew Gardens, Surrey
One of the orchids in the special display in the Princess of Wales Conservatory during February 2009. This specimen was in the tropical section and the mist is caused by the steam which was constantly being sprayed into the area. These plants have aerial roots and use them for the uptake of moisture.
