Inside the Hoffman Kiln. Completed in 1873 it is a large oval, 128m long, and fired limestone in a continuous process, the fire moving round the oval.

This is the stonework above one of the access arches, showing the effects of intense heat during its use and the subsequent dripping of water over many years.
