The spring is somewhere in this group of trees, marking the head of Nant Bran, one of the streams running south-east across the moorland plateau to form part of the Cilieni river system. Beyond is the watershed. Everything to the left drains the other way into the Afon Dulas. The area is not often open to the public but it is a non-firing day and the red flags are down.
